Maths
Maths is designed to be engaging, practical, and rooted in understanding. We follow a Maths Mastery approach, ensuring that every child develops a secure grasp of key concepts before moving on. Learning is hands-on and interactive, with children exploring ideas through concrete resources before progressing to pictorial and abstract representations. This “concrete–pictorial–abstract” approach helps build confidence and deepens understanding.
Beyond the daily maths lesson, we reinforce core skills through daily maths meetings. These short, focused sessions provide opportunities to practise and revisit core concepts such as number bonds, counting, and mental arithmetic in a fun and supportive way. By embedding maths throughout the day and across the curriculum, we help children see its relevance and develop fluency.
Our aim is to make maths exciting, accessible, and meaningful for all learners, fostering curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.
